I could share stories saturated with details only a sovereign, personal God could orchestrate. However, I’ll summarize my time in Brazil by paraphrasing Paul: we went to share the gift of God’s Word so that the local church would be strengthened, and we departed mutually encouraged by each other’s faith to hear and delight in the Word (Romans 1:11-12). During the training, a woman learned of the triune nature of God for the first time. Ladies, from pre-teen girls to grandmothers, wrestled with hard questions and turned to Scripture for answers. Tears were shed as the Holy Spirit gave understanding where there was once confusion. At the end, we all parted ways knowing our God deeper than before, delighting in His Word, and praising Him for His loving kindness.
